Nursing

ParaMed offers a full range of nursing services including registered nurses, registered practical nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse practitioners as well as nurses with specialties in palliative care, pediatrics, wound care and general nursing care. The skill set of the nurse matches the requirements of the client situation.

Wound Care

This program offers clients a comprehensive approach to wound care for wounds ranging from chronic to post-surgical.

Intravenous Care

Nurses with expertise in a wide variety of intravenous infusion devices and care ensure that best practices are integrated into the care delivery process. Clients may receive medications such as antibiotics or chemotherapy in their home.

Palliative Care

Pain and Symptom Management are cornerstones of this Palliative Care Program. Clients and families are supported by trained professionals throughout the palliative care and end of life journey.

Acute Care Post Hospitalization

Nurses complete health assessments and deliver care to assist clients recuperating from major surgery / illnesses.

Chronic Disease Management

Nurses can assist the client in self-management of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, chronic obstructive lung disease and others.

Pediatric Services

In selected Centre locations, a core group of nurses with expertise in pediatric nursing offer services to clients and families of children dealing with difficult childhood diseases. Services include intravenous care, health teaching, medication management and respite.

Mental Health

In selected Centre locations mental health care that includes comprehensive mental health assessment, care planning and advocacy.

Foot care Services

Nurses educated in advanced foot care provide assessment of the foot, care and relief from corns and calluses, education regarding proper footwear and toenail trimming. These services can be provided in the client's home, in a clinic setting in senior's homes, facilities or institutions.

School Health

This service is available to students in the primary, elementary and post-secondary school setting to receive treatments related to their health status. Nurses work collaboratively with teachers and teachers' assistants to ensure that students achieve both their health and education goals.
